• Host Employers Guide to Workplace Learning – a reference for all hosting employers covering insurance details, obligations, support on how to work with and support young people in the workplace and details of the expectations for young people in the workplace. This is specifically for NSW Government Schools.
• Certificate of Currency – The NSW Government has a Treasury Managed Fund providing overarching coverage for approved student activities in the workplace.
• Prohibited Activities Information – Young workers can lack the experience, knowledge, confidence and skills to identify and deal with potential hazards. Inexperience and a lack of awareness can increase the likelihood of a young worker being injured. There are some activities that are not suitable for students (young workers) in an approved workplace learning program and there are others where special consideration needs to be given to addressing risks.
• Additional Information – to support you to complete the Host Employer section of the placement record, the department has provided some additional information to consider. Our WPSP team will happily assist you with any enquiry you may have.
• The Student placement Record is a recognised agreement when considering workplace health and safety. It is important to ensure the information provided is correct and reflective of what will be undertaken in the workplace. Some information to support you to complete this can be found here.
