Students are required to complete 35 hours (one week) with a corresponding industry employer. During this week, students experience real work situations which help them in developing self-confidence, skills and understandings that will assist them in their transition from school to work. Students are fully insured and are volunteers to the host employer – which is a great way to build skills AND for employers to test the market for future entry level employees!
Our role at BEN is to provide on-going effective linking of employers to schools/TAFE campuses across Northern Sydney. We coordinate quality HSC VET Work Placements for students, as well as supporting Host Employers with information and advice about managing issues that may arise during a placement. We do this as part of a strategic partnership with Australian Schools Industry Partnership (AusSIP).
