All dog assessments are FREE to volunteers.

At the BEN,  we look for dogs with a very specific set of traits and skills to work with our young people.

There are a few “must-haves” for your dog to be considered for certification to work in our program.

1.  All dogs are ideally between the ages of 18 months and 10 years old. (dogs between 10-18 months are considered on a case by case basis)

2.  All dogs should ideally be de-sexed (dogs that aren’t are considered on a case by case basis)

3.  All dogs should have a clean bill of health and vaccination history

​4.  All dogs should have a friendly disposition that is likely to enjoy participating in the program
