[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]The PACTS (Parents As Career Transition Support) Program has been specifically designed to help provide parents, guardians, grandparents and carers with up-to-date information about educational pathways, that enables them to support their children effectively when they’re making career transition decisions within the secondary school system and beyond.
Our team has extensive training in delivering PACTS to support schools and the local community to support stronger engagement outcomes for the youth of the region.

Initial survey results show that:
100% of parents think it is important to be involved in their child’s transition and 80% of young people say they would like help from their parents in making decisions. However, only 20% of parents feel they currently have sufficient knowledge of employment and training options to help their child make a decision about what to do after leaving school.

- are alerted to the scope and importance of their role in transition decision making, and are encouraged to communicate with their children in an ongoing fashion
- gain strategies for communicating with adolescents
- learn how to encourage and support their children to explore their interests and motivations and how to link these interests to broad occupational categories
- are equipped to use career resources such as the Job Guide to help their children explore their interests
- learn how to find and pursue training and employment pathways that fit the unique and changing needs and interests of their children
