What is the age group for Roller Disco's?
Discos are open to all ages!
Is the drinking available at the event?
All discos are ALCOHOL-FREE events. Random bag searches will occur to ensure prohibited substances are not brought into the event. Anyone suspected to be in possession or under the influence of any prohibited substances will be asked to leave the event.
Will there be security at the event?
The event is being supported through the PCYC and will have the inclusion of Police Youth Liaison Officers as part of the event.
Will there be medical support if required?
YES - there will be St Johns Ambulance attendants as part of the event
Can I bring my own skates?
BYO skates are welcome but need to have non-marking stoppers. These will be cleared at the "SKATE CHECK" booth on the night. If you are unsure, you can contact the team at Skater HQ and they can assist you with the correct stoppers prior to the event
What safety gear do I need?
With speed limits in place, there is no mandatory safety gear require however, it is highly recommended. Skaters are welcome to wear helmets, knee pads, and wrist guards. All hire skates have safety gear available and included in the hire price.
I have in-line skates, can I bring those?
YES - inlines are welcome but they also need non-marking stoppers and will need to be cleared by "SKATE CHECK" on the night and prior to entry.
If I'm not skating but want to come to support friends/family, do I still need to buy a ticket?
YES - all attendees need to purchase a ticket. This forms part of the event running costs and is also aligned to COVID event restrictions on numbers.
What if only find out I need new stoppers on the night at "SKATE CHECK", what do I do?
We strongly recommend that if you have not used your skates for a while or are unsure if they are non-marking stoppers, drop into Skater HQ or other skate specialists and have them checked prior to the disco. Natural rubber or poured urethane stoppers and brake pads are non-marking, long-wearing, and fast stopping. That's what you want to have! If you don't pass "SKATE CHECK" there will be limited hire skates available on a FIRST IN FIRST SERVED basis.
Is there food available on the night?
YES - pre-order food options are available as well as drinks and snacks. BYO drinks and food are not recommended and bag searches may occur to ensure that participants are not bringing in prohibited substances.
